DEFERRED VOTES

VOTES DIFFÉRÉS

On a deferred vote, the question on the amendment by Mr. Miller (Parry Sound–Muskoka) to the motion by Mr. Duncan respecting the Budgetary Policy of the Government having been put, as follows:-

That the motion moved by the Minister of Finance on March 29, 2011, "that this House approves in general the budgetary policy of the government," be amended by deleting the words following "that this House" and adding thereto the following:

"Cannot support a Budget that will increase reckless spending and waste and will result in tax increases or new taxes, to pay for it.

Further, the budget fails:

 to provide relief for Ontario families; and

 to give small businesses a break by appointing a member of cabinet responsible for meeting measurable, hard targets on red tape reduction, and;

 to end corporate welfare schemes that pick winners and losers in the marketplace, and;

 to fix the broken arbitration system and ensures that public sector agreements reflect the ability of families to pay the bills, and

 to scrap the wasteful LHIN bureaucracy and the bloated Ontario Power Authority and invests those tax dollars into frontline services, and;

 to halt the doubling of Ontario's debt."
