La Vice-Présidente s’adresse à la Chambre :-

I beg to inform the House that, pursuant to Standing Order 71(b), the Member for Nepean—Carleton (Ms. MacLeod) has notified the Clerk of her intention to file notice of a reasoned amendment to the motion for Second Reading of Bill 196, An Act to authorize the expenditure of certain amounts for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018 (Sessional Paper No. 444).

The Order for Second Reading of Bill 196 may therefore not be called today.

Ms. Malhi moved,

Mme Malhi propose,

That the Legislative Assembly of Ontario recognize that not all Ontarians are feeling the benefits of our growing economy, and that we endorse a $15 minimum wage for workers starting in January 2019 to help create more fairness and opportunity across the province.

Debate arose and after some time,

Il s’élève un débat et après quelque temps,

On a point of order being raised on the orderliness of Government Notice of Motion Number 61 by the member from Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke (Mr. Yakabuski),

The Deputy Speaker delivered the following ruling:-

La Vice-Présidente a rendu la décision suivante :-

During the House’s consideration of Bill 148, it was asked to approve a number of amendments to labour legislation.

At no time during this session was the House presented with a singular question regarding minimum wage.

This is a different question before the House. I therefore find the motion does not offend Standing Order 52 and the motion is in Order.

Debate resumed and after some time the House recessed at 10:15 a.m.

Le débat a repris et après quelque temps, à 10 h 15, la Chambre a suspendu la séance.
