ORDERS OF THE DAY

ORDRE DU JOUR

Opposition Day Number 2

Jour de l'opposition numéro 2

Ms. Horwath moved,

Mme Horwath propose,

Whereas the selling off of Highway 407 costs the people of Ontario $1 billion a year; and

Whereas $1.7 billion annually from the LCBO goes directly into paying for the services that families rely on; and

Whereas the OLG put $1.9 billion annually into the provincial treasury; and

Whereas the Harris Government privatization of hydro drove up bills for families and businesses; and

Whereas public assets benefit all Ontarians;

Therefore, in the opinion of this House, any deal, arrangement, transaction, government bill or other action of the government that seeks to privatize the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, the hydro sector or the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation would be subject to a Province-wide referendum.
