Debate was resumed on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 196, An Act to amend the Election Act with respect to certain electoral practices.

Le débat reprend sur la motion portant deuxième lecture du projet de loi 196, Loi modifiant la Loi électorale en ce qui concerne certaines manoeuvres électorales.

Pursuant to Standing Order 47(c), the Acting Speaker (Mrs. Munro) interrupted the proceedings and announced that there had been more than six and one-half hours of debate on Second Reading of Bill 196, An Act to amend the Election Act with respect to certain electoral practices, and that the debate would be deemed adjourned.

A debate arose on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 181, An Act to amend the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997.

Il s’élève un débat sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 181, Loi modifiant la Loi de 1997 sur la prévention et la protection contre l’incendie.

After some time, there being no further debate, the question having been put, the Acting Speaker (Mrs. Munro) declared her opinion that the Ayes had it, and a recorded vote having been demanded,

Après quelque temps, comme il n’y a plus de débat, la motion mise aux voix, la présidente par intérim, Mme Munro déclare qu'à son avis les voix favorables l'emportent et un vote par appel nominal ayant été demandé,

The Acting Speaker directed that the Members be called in, for which purpose the division bells were rung.

I have received a request from the Chief Government Whip, under Standing Order 28(h), that the vote on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 181, An Act to amend the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, be deferred until May 31, 2011.

J'ai reçu une requête du Whip en chef du gouvernement, conformément à l'article 28 h) du Règlement, que le vote sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 181, Loi modifiant la Loi de 1997 sur la prévention et la protection contre l’incendie, soit différé jusqu'au 31 mai 2011.

Therefore the vote is accordingly deferred.
