Debate was resumed on the motion for an Address in Reply to the Speech of His Honour the Lieutenant Governor at the Opening of the Session.

At 10:12 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 42(a), the Acting Speaker (Mrs. Munro) interrupted the proceedings and announced that there had been 12 hours of debate on the motion for an Address in Reply to the Speech from the Throne, and the question would now be put.

On March 9, 2010, Mr. Johnson moved, seconded by Mrs. Van Bommel, that an humble Address be presented to His Honour the Lieutenant Governor as follows:

To the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario:

“We, Her Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, now assembled, beg leave to thank Your Honour for the gracious speech Your Honour has been pleased to address to us at the opening of the present Session.”

The question having been put, the Acting Speaker declared her opinion that the Ayes had it, and a recorded vote having been demanded, the Acting Speaker then addressed the House as follows:-

La motion mise aux voix, la Présidente par intérim, déclare qu'à son avis les voix favorables l'emportent et un vote par appel nominal ayant été demandé, ensuite, la Présidente par intérim, s'adresse à l'Assemblée en ces mots:-

Pursuant to Standing Order 9(c), the vote on the motion for an Address in Reply to the Speech of His Honour the Lieutenant Governor is deferred until "Deferred Votes" today.

Conformément à l'article 9 c) du Règlement, le vote sur la motion portant l’Adresse en réponse au discours prononcé par Son Honneur le lieutenant-gouverneur est différé jusqu'aux «Votes différés» aujourd'hui.

Pursuant to Standing Order 9(a), the Acting Speaker recessed the House at 10:14 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
