That the Legislative Assembly of Ontario calls on the Premier of Ontario to support much-needed changes to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, including: – Expanding publication of names of young offenders convicted of violent crimes; – Ensuring that persons aged 14 and older convicted of violent crimes face sentences proportionate to the severity of the crime, including life for 1st - or 2nd - degree murder; and – Making it easier to detain young offenders, prior to trial, who are charged with violent offences, or a pattern of offences.
