That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should immediately form an all-party task force to examine the issues surrounding raw milk and that the all-party task force report its findings to the House before the end of the spring session.

A debate arising, at 11:00 a.m., further proceedings were reserved until 12:00 noon.

Ordered, That, in addition to its regularly scheduled meeting times, the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills be authorized to meet after Routine Proceedings this afternoon for purpose of clause-by-clause consideration on Bill 124, An Act to provide for fair registration practices in Ontario's regulated professions.

On motion by Mr. Bradley,

Ordered, That the Order for Second Reading of Bill 83, An Act to amend the Child and Family Services Act and the Coroners Act to better protect the children of Ontario, standing in the name of Mr. Jackson, be discharged and the Bill withdrawn; and

That the Order referring Bill 96, An Act to amend the Education Act, to the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills, standing in the name of Ms. Wynne, be discharged and the Bill withdrawn; and

That the Order referring Bill 71, An Act to promote the use of automated external heart defibrillators, to the Standing Committee on Social Policy, standing in the name of Mr. Crozier, be discharged and the Bill withdrawn.

 

Pursuant to the Order of the House dated December 5, 2006, immediately before "Oral Questions" the Speaker suspended the House during pleasure.

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor entered the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly and took his seat upon the Throne.

The Speaker addressed His Honour as follows:-

"May it please your Honour: The Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario here assembled has Resolved to receive your Honour's gracious Address."

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor addressed the Legislative Assembly and was then pleased to retire.

A debate arose on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 28, An Act to require the taking and analysing of blood samples to protect victims of crime, emergency service workers, good Samaritans and other persons and to make consequential amendments to the Health Care Consent Act, 1996 and the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Il s'élève un débat sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 28, Loi exigeant le prélèvement et l'analyse d'échantillons de sang afin de protéger les victimes d'actes criminels, le personnel des services d'urgence, les bons samaritains et d'autres personnes et apportant des modifications corrélatives à la Loi de 1996 sur le consentement aux soins de santé et à la Loi sur la protection et la promotion de la santé.

After some time, the motion was declared carried and the Bill was accordingly read the third time and was passed.

Après quelque temps, la motion est déclarée adoptée et en conséquence, ce projet de loi est lu une troisième fois et adopté.

 

Debate was resumed on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 158, An Act to revise legislation relating to the public service of Ontario by repealing the Public Service Act, enacting the Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006 and the Ontario Provincial Police Collective Bargaining Act, 2006 and making complementary amendments to various Acts and by amending various Acts in respect of the successor rights of certain public servants.

Le débat reprend sur la motion portant deuxième lecture du projet de loi 158, Loi visant à réviser des lois ayant trait à la fonction publique de l'Ontario en abrogeant la Loi sur la fonction publique, en édictant la Loi de 2006 sur la fonction publique de l'Ontario et la Loi de 2006 sur la négociation collective relative à la Police provinciale de l'Ontario, en apportant des modifications complémentaires à diverses lois et en modifiant diverses lois en ce qui concerne la succession aux qualités pour certains fonctionnaires.

There being no further debate, the question having been put, the motion was declared carried and the Bill was accordingly read the second time and Ordered referred to the Standing Committee on General Government.
