Election of Vice-Chair

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Good morning, honourable members. It is my duty to call upon you to elect a Vice-Chair. Are there any nominations? Mr. Crack.

Mr. Grant Crack: Thank you, Mr. Clerk. It would be my privilege and pleasure to nominate Mr. Lou Rinaldi as Vice-Chair.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Does the member accept the nomination?

Mr. Lou Rinaldi: Sure.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Are there any further nominations? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and Mr. Rinaldi elected as Vice-Chair of the committee. Mr. Rinaldi, if you’d take the chair.

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Lou Rinaldi): Okay. Thank you so much for this honour and privilege.

Appointment of subcommittee

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Lou Rinaldi): I would like to inform members that yesterday’s change in committee membership has created a vacancy on our subcommittee on committee business. We need a motion for someone to replace Mr. Walker as the PC representative on the subcommittee. Would someone like to move that motion? Ms. Thompson.

Ms. Lisa M. Thompson: Thank you very much, Vice-Chair. I move that MPP Jack MacLaren replace Mr. Bill Walker on the subcommittee on committee business.

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Lou Rinaldi): Any debate? All those in favour? Those opposed? Jack, you can’t put your hand up. The motion is carried. Congratulations.

Seeing that there is no further business this morning, the committee is adjourned until Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 9 a.m.
