Committee business

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Matthew Rae): Good afternoon, everyone. The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs will now come to order.

We have with us today the parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure, MPP Bob Bailey, along with ministry staff. Thank you for accepting the invitation, Mr. Bailey, to appear before us today. As outlined in the invitation letter sent to the minister’s office, the committee looks forward to the opportunity to receive an update on the status of the Queen’s Park restoration project.

I also understand from the Ministry of Infrastructure that your opening remarks also contain commercially sensitive information, and you have requested that we move into closed session.

I apologize to the media in the back.

Mr. Robert Bailey: That’s correct. That’s true, Chair. I appreciate your understanding, and the committee’s as well. There are a number of items in here that, I’ve been advised by our legal, are commercially sensitive, so I’d like to ask your indulgence that we go into closed session immediately.

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Matthew Rae): Do I have a motion from someone of the committee members to move into closed session? MPP Barnes.

You have to move it, MPP Barnes.

Ms. Patrice Barnes: Oh.

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Matthew Rae): I know we’re almost at Christmas, everyone.

Ms. Patrice Barnes: Don’t check my cup.

I put the motion on the table for us to move into closed session.

The Vice-Chair (Mr. Matthew Rae): Thank you. All in favour to move into closed session? All opposed? Unanimously carried.

I will now briefly recess for Hansard and our lovely colleagues to leave the room.

The committee recessed at 1306 and later continued in closed session.
