That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should raise the quality of care for Francophone Ontarians in long-term care homes by taking the following steps: increasing the supply of bilingual health care staff through targeted educational programs, establishing immigration corridors, addressing portability of interprovincial credentials for non-regulated staff, providing support for translation services, enhancing Francophone-specific data collection, placing an emphasis on language needs in residents’ nursing plans of care, and encouraging long-term care homes that provide French-language services to seek a designation under the French Language Services Act. | |
