Shoe Memorial
Completed in November 2022, the Shoe Memorial is a permanent display created in honour of the Indigenous children who did not make it home and for those who are still missing. These items, gathered from a spontaneous memorial left at the entrance of the Ontario Legislative Building in the spring of 2021, serve as a permanent reminder to speak and teach the truth as we walk the path of reconciliation and healing together.
You can learn more about the Shoe Memorial, which is located in Ninoododadiwin (room 228) in the Legislative Building’s Gathering Place, in the Shoe Memorial brochure. To visit this exhibit, contact Parliamentary Protocol and Public Relations at pppr@ola.org, or call (416) 325-7500.
