That in the opinion of this House the Minister of Community & Social Services must fulfill the Blueprint commitment to move forward with the expansion of the Ontario Work-for-Welfare initiative by having every ministry, government agency, board and commission take a number of workfare placements. As promised during the 1999 campaign, the work-for-welfare system should also be expanded by encouraging municipalities to undertake more workfare programs.

Mr. McGuinty moved that the motion moved by the Minister of Finance on May 9 "That this House approves in general the budgetary policy of the government" be amended by deleting the words after "That this House" and adding thereto the following:
"Recognizes that this budget fails our families and our future by:
· introducing private school vouchers which jeopardize the future of public education of Ontario;
· putting the interests of corporations ahead of the interests of working families;
· and by failing to make strategic investments such as a real cap on class sizes in the early grades, or measures to reduce the doctors' shortage, or a clean drinking water plan.
Therefore, this House has lost confidence in this government."
