EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Bill amends subsection 62 (16) of the Highway Traffic Act to provide that a member of the coast guard auxiliary responding to an emergency call to a boat may carry on or in his or her vehicle and operate a lamp that produces intermittent flashes of green light.

An Act to amend the Highway Traffic Act with respect to green lights for coast guard auxiliary
His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
1 Subsection 62 (16) of the Highway Traffic Act is amended by adding the following paragraph:
3. A member of the coast guard auxiliary responding to an emergency call.
Commencement
2 This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
3 The short title of this Act is the Green Lights for Coast Guard Auxiliary Act, 2024.
