An Act to amend the Ontario Provincial Police Collective Bargaining Act, 2006

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

   1.  (1)  Subsection 2 (2) of the Ontario Provincial Police Collective Bargaining Act, 2006 is amended by striking out "under subsection (3).

   (2)  Subsection 2 (3) of the Act is repealed.

Commencement

   2.  This Act comes into force on a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor.

Short title

   3.  The short title of this Act is the Ontario Provincial Police Collective Bargaining Amendment Act, 2013.

 

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Explanatory Note was written as a reader's aid to Bill 133 and does not form part of the law.  Bill 133 has been enacted as Chapter 19 of the Statutes of Ontario, 2013.

 

The Bill repeals subsection 2 (3) of the Ontario Provincial Police Collective Bargaining Amendment Act, 2006, which states that every collective agreement is deemed to provide that specified matters are the exclusive function of the employer and will not be the subject of collective bargaining.  A consequential amendment is made to subsection 2 (2) of the Act.
