An Act to proclaim
Rouge Park Week
Preamble
The Rouge Park is North America's largest natural environment park in an urban setting. It spans an area of almost 5,000 hectares, from its headwaters in the Oak Ridges Moraine to the marshes at the mouth of the Rouge River on the shore of Lake Ontario.
The park is an ecosystem of outstanding natural features that exists in a setting with human habitation of many different cultures. Human activities exist in harmony with the natural values of the park. Accordingly, the park is a sanctuary for nature and the human spirit.
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
Rouge Park Week
1. (1) In 2002, the week of September 30 to October 6 is proclaimed as Rouge Park Week.

(2) In each year following 2002, the week beginning with the first Monday in October is proclaimed as Rouge Park Week.
Commencement
2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
3. The short title of this Act is the Rouge Park Week Act, 2002.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Bill proclaims Rouge Park Week. It is the week from September 30 to October 6, 2002. In each year after 2002, it is the week beginning with the first Monday in October.
