An Act to amend the
Public Transportation
and Highway Improvement Act
to name Highway 417 the
Sir John A. Macdonald Highway
Preamble
The people of Ontario wish to recognize Sir John A. Macdonald for his vision that Canada would be linked by a transportation system.
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
1. The Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act is amended by adding the following section:
Highway 417
36.1 The part of the King's Highway designated as controlled-access Highway 417 shall be known in English as the Sir John A. Macdonald Highway and in French as Autoroute Sir John A. Macdonald.
Commencement
2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
3. The short title of this Act is the Sir John A. Macdonald Highway Act, 2002.

The Bill amends the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act to name Highway 417 the Sir John A. Macdonald Highway.
