An Act to confirm that French language rights are unaffected by provincial downloading

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

French language rights

1. Existing French language rights, including those under the French Language Services Act and the Courts of Justice Act, are unaffected by any Act, regulation or administrative action that transfers responsibility for the administration of a program or service from the Province to a municipality, municipal agency or other person.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Downloading and French Language Rights Act, 1998.
