The purpose of the Bill is to fix the indemnities and allowances of Members of the Assembly at the levels set out in the motion passed by the Assembly on July 28, 1993.

An Act to fix the Idemnities and Allowances of
Members of the Assembly
at the Levels in effect on March 31, 1996
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
Indemnities and allowances fixed
1. Despite the Legislative Assembly Act, the indemnities and allowances of members of the Assembly shall be fixed at the levels in effect on March 31, 1996 under the motion passed by the Assembly on July 28, 1993.
Repeal
2. This Act is repealed on a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor.
Commencement
3. This Act comes into force on April 1, 1996.
Short title
4. The short title of this Act is the Freezing of Compensation for Members of the Assembly Act, 1996.
