Ordered, That, the Standing Committee on Social Policy be authorized to meet in Toronto on Monday, February 26, 2018, during its regularly scheduled meeting time, for the purpose of public hearings on Bill 193, An Act to enact Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2017 and to amend the Education Act; and That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, post information regarding public hearings on the Legislative Assembly website, the Ontario Parliamentary channel, Cision, and Turtle Island News, if possible; and That interested parties who wish to be considered to make an oral presentation contact the Clerk of the Committee by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018; and That the Clerk of the Committee provide the Sub-committee Members and/or their designates with the list of requests to appear received to date by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, and a final list by 4:00 p.m. February 23, 2018; and That witnesses be scheduled to appear before the Committee on a first-come, first-served basis; and That, if at any time, the hearings become oversubscribed, the Clerk of the Committee notify the Sub-committee Members and/or their designates by sending the list of requests to appear at the earliest opportunity; and That presentations be scheduled in 15-minute intervals and that witnesses be offered up to 5 minutes for their presentation followed by 10 minutes for questions from Committee members, divided equally among the recognized parties; and That the Rowan's Law Advisory Committee be invited to appear before the Committee and be offered up to 15 minutes for a shared presentation, followed by 15 minutes for questions from Committee members, divided equally among the recognized parties; and That written submissions be accepted by the Clerk of the Committee until a deadline has been determined by the Committee; and That the Committee meet in Toronto for clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. | |||||||
