An Act to authorize the expenditure of certain amounts for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2008
Preamble
Messages from the Honourable the Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Ontario, accompanied by estimates and supplementary estimates, indicate that the amounts mentioned in the Schedules are required for the purposes set out in this Act.
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
Interpretation
1. In this Act,
"non-cash expense" has the same meaning as in the Financial Administration Act.
Supply granted
Expenses of the public service
2. (1) For the period from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008, amounts not exceeding a total of $63,421,313,000 may be paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund or incurred as non‑cash expenses to be applied to the expenses of the public service, as set out in Schedule A to this Act, that are not otherwise provided for and the money shall be applied in accordance with the votes and items of the estimates and supplementary estimates.
Investments of the public service
(2) For the period from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008, amounts not exceeding a total of $1,430,836,600 may be paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund to be applied to the investments of the public service in capital assets, loans and other investments, as set out in Schedule B to this Act, that are not otherwise provided for and the money shall be applied in accordance with the votes and items of the estimates and supplementary estimates.
Expenses of the Legislative Offices
(3) For the period from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008, amounts not exceeding a total of $176,254,800 may be paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund to be applied to the expenses of the Legislative Offices, as set out in Schedule C to this Act, that are not otherwise provided for and the money shall be applied in accordance with the votes and items of the estimates and supplementary estimates.
Expenditures of the public service
3. An expenditure in the votes and items of the estimates and supplementary estimates of the public service may be incurred by the Crown through any ministry to which, during the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2008, responsibility has been given for the program or activity that includes that expenditure.
Repeal
4. The Interim Appropriation Act, 2007 is repealed.
Commencement
5. This Act is deemed to have come into force on April 1, 2007.
Short title
6. The short title of this Act is the Supply Act, 2008.
