An Act to change the name of The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton to The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine
Preamble
The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton has applied for special legislation to change its name to The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine. The applicant represents that it was created on January 1, 1999 by a restructuring order made under subsection 25.2 (2) of the Municipal Act that amalgamated The Corporation of the Township of Bruce, The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine and The Corporation of the Town of Kincardine. The applicant further represents that The Corporation of the Township of Bruce was created on January 1, 1998 by a restructuring order made under subsection 25.2 (2) of the Municipal Act that amalgamated The Corporation of the Village of Tiverton and The Corporation of the Township of Bruce.
It is appropriate to grant the application.
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
Name of township changed
1. The name of the amalgamated township of The Corporation of the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton is hereby changed to The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine.
References to former names
2. Any reference in a general or special Act or in a regulation, by-law, agreement or other document to the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton, the Township of Bruce, the Township of Kincardine, the Town of Kincardine or the Village of Tiverton shall be deemed to be a reference to the Municipality of Kincardine.
Commencement
3.This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
4.The short title of this Act is the Municipality of Kincardine Act, 1999.
