Room bookings
Meeting rooms at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario are available to stakeholders or organizations whose purpose is to engage with Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs). The event must be inclusive to all political parties and be non-political in nature. Before submitting a room booking request, please read the detailed information below.
Process
Stakeholders must complete an application form. If approved, the following is required a minimum of three business days prior to your event:
- support letter from an MPP
- detailed itinerary with all scheduled meetings with MPPs throughout the day of the event
- copy of the invitation sent out to all MPPs
- guest list with first and last names only in an Excel document
- room set-up details
Failure to provide proper documentation may result in delays to your guests entering the building and/or cancellation of the event.

General
There is no storage facility and deliveries must be pre-arranged.
No, deliveries must take place within the time the room is booked and picked up immediately following the event.
All deliveries must be made through the northeast basement entrance to the Legislative Building. Stakeholders are responsible for their own dollies and pump trucks are not permitted in the elevators.
Public parking is not permitted on the grounds of the Legislative Precinct. There are a certain number of accessible parking spaces available to those who hold proper permits. Visit our Plan your visit page for directions and suggestions on parking near Queen’s Park.
Yes, all guests must show government issued photo identification upon entering the Legislative Building. Visitors are required to go through airport-style security screening when entering the Legislature.
Commercial photography or filming is not permitted. Photos and filming within reserved space for personal use is permitted.
All visitors must register with the Legislative Protective Service at the visitors' entrance for a Visitor’s Gallery Pass prior to going into the Public Galleries. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. For the sitting hours, please refer to the Legislative Assembly website.

Cancellation must be made in writing to Room Bookings a minimum of five business days prior to the booked event.
Application
Bookings can be made up to one year in advance. Any future event can be booked within one year of the last event. There can only be one event per organization, per calendar year.
No, reservations can only be made up to one year in advance.
No, rooms cannot be reserved tentatively.
Room Bookings will contact you within 72 hours of your submission.
The application process is on a first-come, first-served basis. The use of committee rooms is limited with priority given to Legislative Committees or other business of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario; therefore, no guarantee can be made on any booking.
The support letter needs to include the name of the organization, the name of the MPP supporting the event, the date, time and location of the event and the estimated number of guests attending.
Event
Internal catering (Parliamentary Food Services) or external catering is permitted in committee rooms 228 and 230. For the In Camera dining room, catering options will be discussed upon booking. There is no kitchen or preparation space for outside caterers.

No, any admission fees and/or donations are strictly prohibited for any event.
Yes, rooms are accessible.
Yes, wi-fi access is given upon request on the day of your event.
When the House is sitting, the coat check area is located in the basement near the cafeteria and is opened from 8:30 a.m. until the House adjourns. There are also coat racks and hangers available outside of Ninoododadiwin (Room #228) and Ę dwaę na ga da:t (Room #230), and inside the In Camera Dining Room to the right of the entrance. Please note that Legislative Assembly of Ontario is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Directional signage in common areas of the building is not permitted. Signage with the name of the organization is permitted outside of the meeting room. Signage inside the meeting space is permitted; however, they cannot be mounted, taped, or attached in any way onto furniture or walls. This includes any window decals.
Upon request, we may provide screens; however, cables, laptops, and projectors are the responsibility of the stakeholder.
Set-up requirements must be provided three business days in advance and are subject to restrictions (availability, movement, accessibility, etc.). Moving furniture is restricted to the Legislature’s moving technicians; therefore, a pre-event onsite visit is encouraged to determine your set-up needs.
No, rooms must not be used as a home base or office for groups.
No, press conferences are only permitted in the media studio and stakeholders must contact them separately at 416-327-2819.
Yes, however, a minimum notice of three business days is required so that all appropriate arrangements may be put in place.
No, access to the meeting rooms is prohibited when the Legislative Building is closed.
Once Parliament has dissolved for an election, the use of committee rooms will be restricted and any prior bookings will be cancelled during the electoral period.
