That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should immediately move to reward job-creators with a tax credit for new hires to alleviate the jobs crisis. Such a tax credit should include:

• A reimbursement to employers for 10 percent of the salary paid to a new hire during the first year of employment, up to a maximum of $5,000 per new hire; and

• Be conditional upon businesses demonstrating that a new hire is genuine and provides on-the-job training.
