ORAL QUESTIONS |
QUESTIONS ORALES | |||
A Point of Order having been raised seeking the Speaker’s clarification on the admissibility of certain questions in Question Period, the Speaker delivered the following ruling:-
It is the longstanding practice of this House that matters before committee should be dealt with in committee. I allowed the question because in my mind it had a connection to a matter that the House may be required to consider. I commend page 506 of O’Brien and Bosc’s House of Commons Procedure and Practice for a fuller discussion of this matter, where it says in part: “When a question has been asked about a committee’s proceedings, Speakers have encouraged Members to rephrase their questions”.
