Pursuant to Standing Order 9(c), the vote on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 201, An Act to provide for review of expenses in the public sector, was deferred until "Deferred Votes" today.

Conformément à l'article 9 c) du Règlement, le vote sur la motion portant deuxième lecture du projet de loi 201, Loi prévoyant l'examen des dépenses dans le secteur public, est différé jusqu'aux «Votes différés» aujourd'hui.

A debate arose on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 203, An Act to allow for better cross-border policing co-operation with other Canadian provinces and territories and to make consequential amendments to the Police Services Act.

Il s'élève un débat sur la motion portant deuxième lecture du projet de loi 203, Loi visant à permettre une meilleure coopération avec les autres provinces et les territoires du Canada en ce qui concerne les services policiers transfrontaliers et à apporter des modifications corrélatives à la Loi sur les services policiers.

Second Reading of Bill 202, An Act to protect our children from pornography.

A debate arising, further proceedings were reserved until the end of the time allotted for Private Members' Public Business.

Un débat s'ensuit; la suite de la discussion est renvoyée à la fin du temps imparti pour les affaires d'intérêt public émanant des députés.

Mrs. Munro then moved,

Ensuite, Mme Munro propose,

That, in the opinion of this House, the McGuinty government has failed to help Ontario small businesses by reducing the financial and time burden of government regulation; and therefore, the government should re-establish the Red Tape Commission which it abolished; and, that the commission must publicly demonstrate that it has worked with small business leaders to reduce both the number of regulations and the time and expense required of Ontario's businesses and citizens in complying with government regulation.

A debate arising, further proceedings were reserved until the end of the time allotted for Private Members' Public Business.

Mr. Zimmer then moved,

That, in the opinion of this House, in response to the current economic climate, the Ontario Government should heed the recommendations of Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty with respect to sales tax harmonization, and the recommendation of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario contained in their 2009 Pre-Budget consultation submission before the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs with respect to Ontario's tax competitiveness, and implement a harmonized sales tax.

A debate arising and the time allotted for consideration of Private Members' Public Business having expired, the Acting Speaker (Mrs. Jeffrey) proceeded to put all questions.
