M^me Boyer - Résolution - Que cette Assemblée législative est d'avis que le gouvernement de l'Ontario considère:

· That TFO (the French language service of TVOntario) be given real autonomy in its own direction and development through the creation of an equal-sized French-language section of the Board of the Ontario Educational Authority;

· Que soit accordée à TFO (le service de langue française de TVOntario) une autonomie réelle, en ce qui concerne la direction de ses affaires et son développement, en créant une section, de langue française et de même grandeur, du Conseil de l'Office de la télécommunication éducative de l'Ontario;

· That this section of the Board be given exclusive jurisdiction over French-language programs and French-language materials in the educational broadcasting and communications fields, as well as jurisdiction over the appropiate share of the financial means to ensure these services; and

· Que les émissions de langue française et les ressources de langue française dans les domaines de la diffusion et de la communication en matière d'éducation, de même que l'administration de la juste part des ressources financières permettant d'assurer ces services, relèvent de la compétence exclusive de cette section du Conseil de l'Office de la télécommunication éducative de l'Ontario; et

· That TFO obtains the necessary support from the government of Ontario to realize the full nature of this mandate.

· Que TFO obtienne l'appui nécessaire de la part du gouvernement de l'Ontario pour qu'elle puisse s'acquitter pleinement de ce mandat.

Mr. Tascona - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, the Ministry of Transportation should examine the relationship between driver fatigue and road safety on Ontario Highways; and

That the Ministry will be given up to six months to study and report back to the Legislature with recommendations respecting improved road safety on Ontario highways resulting from the design of a fatigue - fighting infrastructure plan for Ontario, which will address the following needs:

· a shorter distance between rest stops;

· more truck parking at rest stops;

· more restful rest stops;

· better signage of and access to current rest stops attached to service centers;

· public education designed to drive traffic to the new rest stops.

· a shorter distance between rest stops;

· more truck parking at rest stops;

· better signage of and access to current rest stops attached to service centers;

· public education designed to drive traffic to the new rest stops.

Mr. Hastings - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, the Ontario Government must ensure that any rent increases which are permitted because of temporarily escalating costs to the landlord (e.g. energy costs), must immediately end once the landlord has had an opportunity to recoup the cost of the temporary increase. 3. Mr. Hampton - Resolution - That, this House calls upon the Government to introduce legislation that would permit consumers who have signed electricity contracts with electricity retail marketers to nullify them even if the statutory ten day period for nullifying them has expired. This House also calls on the Government to shut down the retail and wholesale markets for electricity and return to a system of public power. Filed on May 21, 2002.

Ms. Churley - Resolution - That, this House deplores the comments made about Maritimers by Canadian Alliance Leader Stephen Harper and seeks, by conveying its good wishes in writing to the citizens of the Maritime provinces through their respective Premiers, to reassure the people of Eastern Canada of their value and worth as an integral part of Canada. Mr. Kormos - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, the Standing Committee on the Legislative Assembly should be assigned an Order of Reference to examine and inquire into the travel and hospitality expenses (including all food and alcoholic beverage expenditures) of Members of the Executive Council of the Province of Ontario and their staff between June 26, 1995 and the present. 9. Mr. Bartolucci - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario declares unequivocally the Ernie Eves government should initiate negotiations with Inco Ltd., to provide and ensure the following condition:-

That Inco Ltd., be bound by an agreement ensuring ore mined in the Sudbury area be processed within the City of Greater Sudbury and that the same protections provided to Newfoundland be provided to Ontario. Filed on June 13, 2002.

10. Mr. Wood - Resolution - That in the opinion of the House, the Standing Orders should be amended by inserting the following after Standing Order 41:

41.1

(a) A Private Members' resolution or an opposition day motion may provide for the order to be called and the time allocated for consideration of any public bill currently before the House provided that:

(i) the notice of such motion is accompanied by the signatures of at least seventy-
five percent of the current membership of the House; and

(ii) the day or days to be designated for consideration of the bill are specified; and

(iii) when such a motion applies to second reading stage of a bill it allocates a
minimum of three days of consideration.

(b) No such motion may designate days pursuant to subsection (ii) which have been designated in a motion already passed by the House.

(c) Consideration of such motion shall be subject to the same Standing Orders as any other Private Members' resolution or opposition day motion.

Mr. Agostino - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs should be empowered to study the potential impact of tax incentives for individuals who purchase fitness memberships in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle. The Committee will be given up to six months to study and report back to the Legislature with recommendations respecting improved health outcomes; including the reduction of healthier individuals burden on the healthcare system.

The Assembly recommends that the Committee begin its deliberations no later than September 2002 and report back to the House no later than February 2003. Filed on June 26, 2002.

12. Mr. McGuinty - Resolution - The Ontario Legislative Assembly condemns the Eves government's private health care bias and demands that each of the following conditions be met before any decision is made to farm out MRI and CT testing to the private sector. The conditions stipulate that:

· Access to medically necessary services be universal, through a single public payer (OHIP), so that those with money are not allowed to buy their way to the front of the line;

· MRI services within the public system be expanded and all existing MRIs be running at full capacity;

· Reforms to our health care system be based on evidence, not ideology, with conclusive and verifiable proof demonstrating that proposed private MRI services are in fact cheaper, better or faster than the public alternative;

· Funding for private MRI clinics be no greater than that available to public providers and that the process for obtaining one be fully transparent;

· Private clinics not be allowed to offer any mix whatsoever of medically covered and uncovered services; and

· A centrally managed waiting list process be in place so patients cannot queue jump simply by visiting private clinics. Filed on June 27, 2002.
