With unanimous consent, the House observed a moment of silence in respect of the tragic death of Firefighter April Hopkin from Goulais River Fire Department.

During "Oral Questions", the Speaker requested the Member for London--Fanshawe (Mr. Mazzilli) to come to order.

Pendant la période des «Questions orales», le Président demande au député de London--Fanshawe, M. Mazzilli de se comporter.

The Member having refused was named by the Speaker and directed to withdraw from the service of the House for the balance of the sessional day.

Comme le député refuse d'obéir, le Président le désigne par son nom et l'ordonne de se retirer du service de l'Assemblée pour le reste du jour de session.

M. Tsubouchi propose,

That the Minister of Finance be authorized to pay the salaries of the civil servants and other necessary payments pending the voting of supply for the period commencing November 1, 2002 and ending April 30, 2003, such payments to be charged to the proper appropriation following the voting of supply.

A debate arising, after some time, the motion was declared carried.

Un débat s'ensuit et après quelque temps, la motion est déclarée adoptée.

The House then adjourned at 5:50 p.m.

A debate arose on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 187, An Act to protect the rights of agricultural employees.

During the debate, as a result of disruptions, the Acting Speaker (Mr. Johnson) ordered the East Public Gallery to be cleared.

Pendant le débat, comme il y des interruptions, le président par intérim, M. Johnson donne des directives pour évacuer la tribune est réservée au public.

The Acting Speaker then recessed the House for 5 minutes.

Ensuite, le Président par intérim ordonne une pause de 5 minutes à l'Assemblée.

After some time, pursuant to Standing Order 9(a), the motion for the adjournment of the debate was deemed to have been made and carried.

Après quelque temps, conformément à l'article 9(a) du Règlement, la motion d'ajournement du débat est réputée avoir été proposée et adoptée.

The House then adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
